At Kedron State School we provide opportunities for our students to hold positions of leadership. Student leadership positions are held in high esteem by the Principal, staff, their fellow students, parents or carers and our community. The positions available for pupils include School and Vice School Captains, House Captains, Music Arts Captains, Connectedness Captain and Student Councillors. The processes involved with the selection of each, vary with the position.
School Captains and Vice School Captains
- Attend and represent Kedron State School at school based and extra-curricular events e.g. ANZAC ceremony, Musical Evenings, Prep Orientation Days, Graduation Day
- Active member of the student leadership team
- Facilitate weekly assemblies
- Participate and support school activities
Student Council Representatives (2 per Year level 3-6)
- Co-ordinate and assist with the whole school events on behalf of the student council, e.g. Harmony Day, RUOK Day
- Present at weekly assemblies
- Participate and encourage engagement in school activities
House Captains (2 per House)
- Attend, encourage and participate in school carnivals and activities e.g. swimming carnival, athletics carnival
- Assist with the day to day running of the Sports Room
- Assist the P.E. teachers to facilitate sport carnival
Music Captains
- Instrumental in assisting with the coordination of Music department activities and events held throughout the year including Instrumental Music evenings
- Audio visual equipment technical support for weekly assemblies
