Welcome PDF Print E-mail

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Kedron State School website. We hope you find this information useful and enjoy sharing with us our achievements. The site will inform you about our happenings and events.

We are a flourishing school community situated in the Avenues of Kedron. Our school opened in 1926 with 171 students. The most recent addition to our campus is the preparatory year in 2007. The present enrolment is approximately 270 students allowing us to provide a supportive small school environment in which students can learn and thrive. This steady increase in our enrolment is indicative of the strong satisfaction in the community with the programs offered by the school.

Kedron State School is committed to providing every child with a balanced education in a supportive environment. Our goal is to maximize the educational outcomes for every student through providing a range of curricular and extra curricular activities. We have staff who are committed to achieving this goal for each student. Our vision is to promote learning in students that will take them Beyond the Kedron Fences and create lifelong learners. Programs from camps to web quests to virtual classrooms are implemented to assist in achieving this vision.

We value home school partnerships which help us ensure achievement of the best possible social and academic outcomes for your child. We value open and effective communication. Literacy and numeracy remain core business and we consistently achieve sound academic results in state wide tests. We promote active healthy students and embrace the Healthy School- Smart Choices and Smart Moves policies. We have an active Swimming club, Active After School Activities and a Before and After School Care program.

We hope your association with our school will be a very positive one and that you will celebrate with us the many joys and achievements of our students and staff. Working together we can achieve wonderful outcomes for our students.
